History of Ebenezer
Ebenezer International possesses the remarkable history of young people who had trusted God under the guidance of Mrs. Agnes Peters better known as “Auntie Aggie” to all of us.
The Townsend’s residence is where it all began. Young people who had experienced the outpouring of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues met regularly at the home of the Townsends.
The church was then known as Parkside Assemblies of God. The character of the church is and always has been vibrant worship and singing, a passionate commitment to the Word of God and the openness to the Holy Spirit.
It is evident that God the Father would have the church grow from one place to the next. Our first move from the house was to a classroom in a school.
The next move of the Holy Spirit was to a night club better known to us as the “Drop Inn”. From the night club the next move was to a movie house called the Reno.
Our journey has taught us to have faith in God no matter what the circumstances. Today we are in our own building and have grown from being members at church to becoming covenant partners in building the Kingdom of God.
